Last night the 5th graders presented their Monologue Museum at the All School Art Show. This was the culmination of a creative challenge that started at the beginning of the year. They shared their learning about a notable figure from history through their art, writing, and performance.

Today our kindergarten and 1st graders shared their informance with us.
An informance is a practice performance while young artists are learning how to put on a show.
They shared songs, movement, and joy with their audiences.
Ms. Mickelson and Mrs. Jacobson lead the way for our youngest eagles.

This afternoon the 2nd and 3rd graders presented their vocal music concert for the EFA+ students.
This was a wonderful celebration of their learning which featured singing, movement, and spoken word.

Happy Social Worker Week!
In the Sioux Falls School District, every student's journey is unique. For many of the kids we serve, our school social workers are there every step of the way! Whether offering a listening ear, connecting families to resources, or advocating for students' well-being, their dedication ignites hope and creates lasting impact in our schools.
This year's theme, Unite to Ignite: Celebrating Our Impact, is a perfect reflection of how our social workers bring people together to create brighter futures for students.
THANK YOU to our incredible school social workers for your compassion and care!

Today EFA+ students practiced being "Selfie Smart" in MI Exchange. They learned about why artists create self portraits and then they made their own self portrait trading card style.
They were able to choose how they wanted to show themself, and what they wanted to share through their art.

KindergARTen Open House is next Thursday (March 6th) from 4-6pm
We can't wait to meet our newest eagles!

The 5th graders practiced delivering their monologues for the Monologue Museum.
The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders were a fantastic first audience.
Next Tuesday evening the 5th graders will perform their monologues from 6-6:45pm.
This is their culminating art integration project that they have been working on all year. We hope you can join us to see their hard work in action.

103 is working on writing stories about a fun time. The students are doing a great job focusing on writing stories with a beginning, middle, and ending. They are becoming great authors!

EFA+ hosted a blood drive today!
We had a total of 11 donors, and collected 8 units.
This will help up to 24 local patients.

A recent Facebook post regarding Washington High School falsely claimed a routine request for a birth certificate was related to immigration status.
State Law (SDCL 13-27-3.1-3.3) requires all public school students to have a birth certificate on file within 30 days of enrollment. When required records are missing from student files, school staff regularly attempt to contact families before sending the required information to the State’s Attorney.
These requests are made solely to ensure compliance with State Law and to maintain complete student records. They are in no way related to immigration enforcement. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our students and their families.
Please reach out to your child’s school or the district office with any questions rather than relying on social media for accurate information. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping student records up to date.
